Rededication of St. Agnes LifeboatTrevaunance Cove
St Agnes RNLI Lifeboat will be celebrating its 40th anniversary on service this summer. The volunteer crew and helpers past and present plan to celebrate this with an event on Saturday 24th May 2008.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a pig roast, BBQ and liquid refreshments from 1pm onwards accompanied by the glorious sound of ‘Falmouth Shout’, a local sea shanty group. Other events start at 2.30 and everyone is invited to a Rededication of Blue Peter IV by the local vicar accompanied by St Agnes Silver Band at 3pm, followed by the crew launching the lifeboat for a demonstration.
The day will culminate with a gathering just up the road at the Driftwood Spars Hotel for a buffet dance, with music from Band for Life and a disco from Dr. Tom.
There will be a fundraising auction of promises and items donated by local artists and businesses, as well as signed Blue Peter presenter photographs, starting at about 8pm.
