St Agnes Victorian Fayre
On Victorian Fayre Day (Spring Bank Holiday Monday), the village's main street is closed from late morning for an afternoon of frolics and fun. Lining the temporarily pedestrianized thoroughfare are a range of stalls offering a variety of local produce and crafts, refreshments and games.
Last year saw a superb open-air music set by local band Real-Y-T, followed by a charity auction of the entries for the giant Cornish Pasty Competition. During the morning, in the kitchens of the St Agnes Hotel, the men and boys of the village vie with each other to produce the best pasty. Following the afternoon's judging, the pasties are auctioned, which last year raised more than £2000 for charity.
