We love dogs, and are one of the best areas in the country to visit with your pets.
Wherever you see the yellow dog icon on this site you’ll know that your four-legged friends will be welcome.
To keep our beaches beautiful and clean, dogs are not allowed on all beaches all year round. Whatever time of year, please ALWAYS remember to take a poop bag and clean up after you dog.
Of the 4 beaches in and around St. Agnes:
Trevaunance Cove: Dogs are allowed all year round, but must be kept on leads.
Trevellas Porth: Dogs are allowed all year round
Chapel Porth: No dogs allowed on the beach between Easter day and Sept 30th (inclusive)
Porthtowan: No dogs allowed on the beach between Easter day and Sept 30th (inclusive)
The Cornish Coast website has a useful map of ALL Cornish beaches that welcome dogs at any time of year.
The glorious South West coast path passes straight through St. Agnes, and is the perfect place for a stomp, but please take good care when walking with your dog. The SWCP site has a good guide to making sure you all have a good day out.
St. Agnes Beacon, which is owned by the National Trust, is a great place to walk dogs any time of year.
Please note: It can get very hot in Cornwall in the summer, and dogs can quickly get into trouble if left in hot cars. Please don’t EVER leave your dog in your car while you go to the beach or pop to the shops – there is almost always somewhere to tie them up outside, with a water bowl to keep them cool.
