St. Agnes Outdoor Festival - the OUTSID'ER 2015
April 10-12, 2015
St Agnes - Various
The St Agnes Outdoor Festival is back for it's third year.
10th - 12th April 2015.
Do you fancy taking a walk on the wild side, playing in a washed up orchestra or competing in a wacky race?
Join in the fun at this weekend-long celebration of the best that St. Agnes’ unique coastline and countryside has to offer!
Last year we saw hundreds of people getting involved in campfire cookery, sea-trash sculpture workshops, wild food foraging, rock-pooling, and enjoying a bit of open air opera on the cliffside!
Now in its third year Outsid’er is going from strength to strength, involving residents and visitors in three days of outdoor related fun, thoughout the parish of St. Agnes.
Each year we want to programme something new and creative; something that will encourage people to visit St Agnes and engage with our stunning landscape in really unique, innovative and inspirational ways. With the help of funding from FEAST, the Outsid'er 2015 will have it's very own Artist-in-Residence, creating an evolving piece of artwork over the three days of the festival.
Alongside this we have got planned a 'Push, Pull or Pedal' Wacky Races competition, Salt Roads Theatre, Star Gazing on the beacon, Washed up Orchestra and concert, A Cornish Language Heritage Walk, Surf Cinema, Den Building, Skate Ramps, Bike tours, a Photography competition, the Festival Launch Beast Feast, plus much much more.......
Perfect for all the family, The OUTSID'ER is all about getting out, getting stuck in and maybe trying something a little bit different...

Push, Pull, Pedal, Wacky Beach Race.
New to OUTSID'ER 2015 !!!
‘Push, Pull or Pedal’ the Wacky Beach Race, which combines many of the elements of the raft race that we love (making a vehicle, dressing up, racing and prizes), but on the sand!!!
The rules are, that your car creation must have wheels, there must be that at least two team members on the vehicle at all times, and the vehicle has to keep firmly on the sand, absolutely no carrying (or hidden engines!!). Other than that you can be as creative as you like when building your race mobile.
The race will take place Sunday the 12th April, where we will have a show of the cars in Trevaunace Cove car park from 3pm, and then at 4pm the cars will be taken down onto the beach for the Wacky Races to begin.
There will be prizes for the race winner, the best vehicle and of course for the best dressed team.

St Agnes Pop Up Orchestra
Mount Pleasant Eco Park and St Agnes Methodist Church
This is a first for Cornwall as we take on the challenge of putting a full orchestra together in just one day to rehearse and perform 3 movements from Holst’s extraordinary Planets Suite: Mars, Venus & Jupiter. The concert will mark the end of the Outsid'er - The St Agnes Outdoor Festival; 3 days’ of events in St. Agnes themed around the great outdoors and the universe beyond!
We are looking for musicians from across Cornwall to come and play, from all sections including Brass, Strings, Woodwind and percussion. You do NOT need to be a professional player; we’re looking for enthusiasm and ambition more than anything! But we do ask that you are Grade 5 or above in your instrument, are able to sight read, and are free to attend a full day of rehearsals as well as the performance on Sunday 12th April: Rehearsals will take place from 9.30am at Mount Pleasant Eco Park, Porthtowan TR4 8HL. The concert will take place at 7.30pm at St. Agnes Methodist Church, St. Agnes TR5 0UA.
Each performer is asked to pay £5 to play, which will cover the cost of hiring the music as well as supplying tea, coffee and biscuits to keep you all going!
To take part, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll send you a registration form.
